Knowledge and Understanding - Sorting Materials

We sorted materials into groups using the computer.

Capital Letters

We have been reciting the alphabet and learning how to form capital letters correctly. We also put the letters of the alphabet in the correct order.

Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?

After reading the story The Three Little Pigs, we had a

surprise when the big bad wolf arrived in our class!

We thought of questions to ask the wolf with our talking partners.

Then we hot seated him to find out more about his character.





Although Mr Wolf seemed very friendly when answering our questions, he crept into the classroom later in the afternoon and began causing trouble by chasing us!















Luckily the wolf calmed down and posed for some
photographs with very brave members of the class!

He was reunited with the 3 little pigs, who were quick to get away after this photograph!


After Mr Wolf's visit we thought of lots of words to describe him; the way he looked,

what his personailty was like etc. We then thought of words to describe the three little pigs.

We used post-it notes to write these down, and put them onto the correct character.



Finally we wrote a character profile for Mr Wolf, using the

information we had obtained from hot seating him.

ICT - Our homes

We have been investigating our homes this week in Science,

and looking at the different materials they are made from.

We spoke to our talking partners about what our houses look like.

Then we drew our house on the computer.

We used the word processor to create labels, and labelled the

different materials that parts of our houses are made from.

We used our Welsh skils to say where we live.

Knowledge and Understanding- Comparing Past and Present

We used the computer to sort objects that were used in the house in the past and objects which are used in the present.

We found out information about the past by using the computer and reference books.

We talked about what appliances we use in our houses now. We compared them to kitchen objects that were used in the past.

Seasons

We have been learning about the four seasons. We put the months in the correct order and talked about what we do in each season. We used the computer to sort clothes into Winter and Summer wardrobes.

We made season posters on the computer using 2Simple.

We sorted pictures into the correct season.
