We re-told our minibeast stories by creating a sequence of actions.

We thought about how our minibeast moves and travels, then we transformed into a new minibeast.

We've been reading the story, 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'.

We used the same story structure to create our own story about a different minibeast. We drew 'story maps' and used them to create our minibeast stories.

We've been ordering groups of numbers.

We looked at how many tens and units each number had, then we ordered them from smallest to largest.

We've also been partitioning numbers into tens and units.

We divided numbers into tens and units with our Talking Partners.

ICT - Create a Bar Graph

We put our plant survey results into a bar graph using '2Calculate'.

We asked each other questions about our results- Which plant is the most common? Which plant is the least common?

We also made a pie chart of our results.

Knowledge and Understanding- Plant Survey

We conducted a plant survey around the pond area in the school grounds.

We named and counted lots of different plants!

We recorded our results in a table.

Creative Development - Dance

Using a story stimulus.

We have been reading the story, 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. We used the story to create a sequence of movements. We re-told the story by moving as a caterpillar and eventually transforming into a beautiful butterfly.

ICT - using 2Simple

We drew the plants that we found around the pond area on the computer using 2Simple.

Then we used the key board to type a sentence about where we found the plants.

Mathematical Development - Counting and Grouping 5's

This week, we've been grouping objects in 5's. We also practised counting in 5's with our Talking Partners.

We have been designing and making our own minibeasts. We thought carefully about which materials we would you use to make our design.
