Around the World in 5 Days...

Welcome to Australia!
We looked at maps and globes to find out where Australia is.
We even found it by completing a jigsaw puzzle.
We enjoyed creating traditional Aboriginal dot painting.
We chose an australian animal to paint.
Look at our masterpieces!

We had a special visit from Miss Harwood, who has lived in Australia.

She brought us lots of Australian items and told us all about living in Australia.

W
e had lots of fun trying to play the didgeridoo, a traditional Australian wind instrument.

We loved looking at the photographs.

Thank you Miss Harwood!
We made Lamingtons, a popular Australian dessert, by rolling sponge cake in chocolate and coconut. They were delicious!
We played native Austrlian games. Here we are playing tambil tambil, a spear dodging game where we had to try to dodge the 'spear' (or bean bag).

We also played Koabangan, and had to find hidden objects.

We designed and made our own boomerangs.

We looked at authentic Australian boomerangs to help us.

We also made Australian flags, and drew pictures of animals that are common to Australia to decorate our classroom.
